Arts at First Church Presents the Madison Brass Band
The Madison Brass Band will be returning to perform a concert at First United Methodist as part of the Arts at First Performance Series on Sunday, October 30th at 2:00 PM. Admission to the concert will be by donation, $10−$20 suggested, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
Music Director Andrew Malovance has assembled a varied and challenging program for this concert. The feature selection of the concert will be Variations on Sine Nominee, a tour de force of brass band arranging by Andrew Wainwright. The band will also reprise Paul Lovett-Coooper’s Dark Side of the Moon, one of the pieces that they performed to win a NABBA Second Section Championship in 2012. The concert will also include some swing and jazz, with Alexander’s Rag Time Band and Irving Berlin’s Let’s Face the Music and Dance. And, as is traditional, the band include The President as our standard British March.
